I'm new here. I've been taking methadone for 3 years now started out at 30mg two times daily now i'm upto 120mg daily. I've ran out before several times and i'm telling you the W/D are horrible. from having no energy to do anything to the feeling of not being able to sit still and the sweats are torture, I've never had the vomiting but my stomach has be in knots before. My doctor just put me on 900mg of Gabapentin daily and it seems to help with the nerve pain alot. I ran out of my methadone lastnight and my doctor gave me a 13 count script for methadone and told me to wait until monday to fill my reg. script of 360 monthly. I love methadone for the chronic back pain it's the best thing in the world for chronic lower back pain but once you get on it , it is so hard to get off of it. I dont know why my doctor didnt put me on neurontin sooner it really does help the W/D alot. I think if this stuff helps with the nerve pain i'm going to try and slowly get the methadone down to a smaller dose.

i commend anybody for trying to get the meth. out of your life, it is the most addictive opiate invented in the 20th century and the withdrawals will stick around anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.thats the most painful part,the duration,but there are things that you can do to ease this horrible process.neurotin(gabapatin),is helpful like you said,clonodine is vey effective,it's a blood pressure med.it helps with the heart pounding and it has a calming effect.on the bottom right of this page there's a thomas recipe with alot of good info.click on it.also i will give you a website written by a doctor that also had a dependence on methadone,it's very informative.t h e s o u r c e n m c @ m s n . c o m
