In addition to my previous comment...

I am addicted to Lorset 10-650 and tramadol 60mg. When I'm out of lorset I take the tramadol and visversa. I am up to probably 10-12 lorset a day and when I take the tramadol it's more like 15 a day. I'm not high, I guess because I've been taking them so long, but like I said in my previous comment it takes this amount to keep the pain down in order for me to work and get through each day. But I'm just sick of living my life around a pill, day in and day out. I have no idea where to start because I cannot be out of work due to withdrawals. Any advice would again be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Fear of detox keeps a lot of people from trying but it CAN be done in such a way where discomfort is minimal. The mind set you have when you begin will greatly determine the outcome. I gone through several detoxes where I felt absolutely nothing, but you'll never know if you don't try. I've read People's horror stories, and yes, if not done correctly, it can be quite uncomfortable.
But the flip side is, when done carefully it is really doable. There are several medications that work quite well but knowing more details about you will help. Do you have health insurance?

All of us here have been exactly where you are at. Sometimes just knowing you aren't alone makes a difference. Your approach to this will be determined by where you want to go from here. You do have choices. If you are taking them to deal with legitimate pain then you have to find alternative solutions to treating your pain. I myself have been addicted to both of the drugs you are taking and know exactly what you are going through. The best way to lower your doses is to taper very slowly but if you are unable to do this om your own you will need the help of a doctor and a medically supervised detox. You mentioned being unable to work without the pills but are you able to take time off in order to enter treatment? If not then you will have to consider suboxone therapy. Tell us a bit more about your situation so we'll know best how to advise. I've been doing this for over 30 years and helping others find the right road is what I enjoy.

Do u work weekends? If not you can not take them Friday and spend your weekend detoxing. For me, the FEAR was much worse than the experience. I always had a reason why the time wasn't right but in the end I just had to flush what I had and get it over with. Its totally do able. Also someone might come along with some advice on tapering. For me, quitting cold turkey was the only way BC it takes alot of will power to stick to a taper. More than my addicted mind had. You are NOT alone and we are all here to support and encourage you through this. Best of luck to u and please keep us updated.
