Is back pain a symptom of w/d?

My hubby's got terrible lower back pain. He says it aches and he feels like he needs to stretch it out but nothing helps. He's in his last week on methadone (1mg) and it's been like this for the last 4-6 months progressively getting worse as he reduces his dose.  He didn't have back problems before. Is this just a symptom of w/d?
He looks so damn uncomfortable in so many ways at the moment. But doing so freaking well regardless.
thanks guys...in advance

I very proud of him. He's doing so well.
Next week will be interesting (not sure if he'd use that word!)
Dropping from 1mg to nothing...or should he go to 0.5mg?

yes, just like trouble said, his pain sensitivity will be high for a month or so, but the good news is, when his brain receptors return to normal, he will have a very high pain tolerance. atleast thats whats been going on with me now. its a great feeling now........no longer feeling every injury like before.

wd from methadone requires alot of patience

yes its a WD symptom. It really suckks too. Alot of us here have bad backs and when we go through WD it makes our initial pain that got us on the pills originally come back tenfold , but even in people who didnt have back problems to begin with can get the pains in the back during WD (along with pains anywhere/everywhere in the body) It will pass but is likely to last longer than normal opiate pill WD as I understand Methadone has a much longer half life than say hydrocodone or oxycodone. Good luck, it WILL pass, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
