Is it possible?!

I've been on Percocet 5/325s and 10/325s for about 7 weeks.  For about 6 weeks it was the 5's 4x a day then 10's for a week.  I quit taking them on Friday around 1PM because they completely ruined me as a person.  It was nice for a while--my knee pain was so horrible and the Percocet was like a miracle drug.  Well as the weeks progressed they started to make me feel like a different person.  Friday I broke down and decided to stop.

Saturday was pretty awful mentally and I had bodyaches and a lot of sweating.  I still feel a little depressed today and have a bit of a stomach ache but nothing significant.  Is it possible that the worst is over?????  After reading so many horror stories I can't imagine that this is possible.  I am sitting on the couch waiting for my best friend to come over.  I feel so motivated to start working on my music again and other things that I used to love.  I don't want to get ahead of myself or get my hopes up, I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this.  Thanks for any input!

Some people only experience a couple days of withdrawal and some none at all... when I was taken off percocet/oxycodone cold turkey I didn't have any withdrawals, infact my husband said when I was taking them I had a bad attitude...

Thank you so much for your response!!  It's now over 72 hours and the depression has subsided some.  Only thing leftover is some stomach discomfort and a slight case of RLS in the AM. I cannot tell you how grateful I feel right now.  I am praying for everyone who is going through this.  I have zero desire to take a painkiller ever again.  Thanks again Melissa! :)

Congrats on your decision to stop!! It sou ds like your worst part is OVER!! Yeah!!!! Since you didn't take them for very long I would say u weren't "addicted" like the rest of us. Depression may still set I. But sou ds to me that u discovered early that YOUR LIFE is way BETTER than this DRUG!!! Congrats again, and keep posting let us know how you are doing. Melissa
