Reference Dr Junig on the Addiction Expert Forum - or Thesuboxonetalkzone - - of course there is an eigth of a dose - - - some crush and divide powder into the appropriate dose to equal small mg doses...... The more approved method uses an infant syringe ----- you simply (this is an example...) dissolve one (1) eight (8) milligram tablet in 8 syringes of water in container........this yields 1 milligram of suboxone per syringe of solution. Following this thought a half syringe of solution equals 1/2 mg of sub.........this is an infant oral syringe just so nobody wants to shoot the stuff....................
Eagle is right. Since suboxone is so strong, most people literally break the 8mg tablet into crumbs. There is a 2mg tablet and that is much easier to taper down to the low doses with. Everyone is different when tapering, some report relatively mild withdrawal and other have very severe. I was on it for nearly 4 years and went through a long drawn out withdrawal. In the end, I could not taper and ended up doing a medically assisted detox, which worked out very well. I have been clean 114 days and feel great. Best advice is to jump off the lowest dose possible and to stretch doses like Eagle said. Good Luck.
I can't believe they get down to these levels... is there a 1/8 dose?
Sub is active at micro gram amounts..... 2 milligram is 2000 micro grams. Many take the last doses down to 1/4mg and 1/8mg and then dose every other and then every third day to try and minimize the "suboxone spanking" that almost invariably accompanies the therapy. Many times the withdrawal aspect doesnt come into play for several days due to the long half life that sub possesses.
2 mg might try 1mg it did not seem bad when I was out of it for 5 days.
at what mg do you plan to jump?
