sounds like the new Doc is on the right track.
Hi ((((thanks)))) Yes I do understand. First I want to say I am a recovered alcoholic 19 yrs sober and I commend u all for your strength and courage. I came here as I know I will get honest answers. I do agree with u ., I am dependent on the mediocine to help my pain. I was bedridden when i 1st got sick. I have fibromyalgia, interstitilal cystits( bladder disease) very painful., severe arthritis in spine ,etc.... anyways i had a lumbar injection a month ago and now i am having severe sciatic nerve pain. last epidural caused a spinal migraine 4 a month., i am calling ouit of work due to the severe pain . I do take the meds as prescribed. i do not take the percocets cuz it hurts my stomach, I think its the acemediphin , that elevates my SGOT (liver function) Sure its prob withdrawal too.,Im just trying to live as normal of a life as i can. I am a single mom with only my income and partial disability and I cant work in this much pain. I will be totally honest with the new doc. It will all be in my records. If the doctor would listen to me. I know they can look to see all the meds I got in the last 10 yrs and it will show I am honest,I just want to feel better. Heck if the treatments worked I would be happy to be rid of all medications... God Bless You friend. Thanks
Hi,
As long as you don't have scripts going from each doctor, then it is not doctor shopping.
What concerns me is that you were on 120 mg of Methadone and 90 mg of Oxycodone a day and you say that you were using that to help yourself. Basically all the pain med does is mask the pain. It does not "heal" the problem. That is truly a huge amount of medication and if you are not addicted to it, then for sure you are dependent on it. this new doctor sounds like he had plans to actually try and "heal" the problem (sorry I used the same term twice).
I am not trying to get on you here. I am just trying to get you to see what the difference is.
I hope it all works out for you and you find relief for your problems.
So the second doc gave you less pills and wanted to try to help you get out of pain by giving you injections? I could be totally wrong but I think oxycodone is the generic name for percocet, so your stomache upset maybe from withdrawals of your dose being cut . You may run into insurance issues getting refills with an exsisting script from another doc, you may not be able to get a new one filled until the other runs out.
