methadone detox

55 yr old male highest meth 140mgs voluntarily detoxed 65 over 10 months.. I am now being shown the door /because they think I need to be in pain management therapy/ being detoxed 10mgs every two days.  My question if I take narcan after zero meth. will it compact some of the worst of the worst. I have taken it before-- 2mgs in hip the evening I was told of detoxing.  I know I'm insane.. actually thought fluids were going to come out of every orafice at once!!  thankfully just throwing up and immediate fever. I am down to 20mgs. any suggestions??

If you read my profile it goes into the whys and yes I that train a commin --- sometimes the state you live in creates the bs and politics are also involved. I am told to get into a pain management treatment center ,but about 75% won't take you if -opiod addiction wasor has been involved . I actually have finally found the right MD ,but I am going to turn into a f-in dog or seal jumpin thru hoops.  In the mean time I am looking the demon right in the eye--------- the holiday weekend also works aqainst me with doc appts.  One thing about it there are alot of us out there ..just wish the states where uniform and the MDs. were not worried so much about the feds /in Ky.

HI Gus....well codos on getting your self down on your own free will its ausum that you lowered you dose....whats up with the forced detox?? 10ml ever 2 days is going to be like a freight train hitting you...I would talk to the conslor and nurse and see if you cant go a bit slower since you have already done so well on your own...if im doing my math right your at 75ml  it would seen more aporperet to go at 5ml drops and at that every 3 days methadone has a long 1/2 life and your not even going to feel the drop let alone be able to let your body adjust to it you need to speak to someone you may have to talk directly to the doctor...is there any other reason your being forced to detox so quickly...have you been using on the side and tured up with a dirty u/a something just dosent sound right here..I know where I went you couldn't use anything wile you where on the methadone or they would give you the boot like there doing to you...if it is carved in stone then will just have to work threw it but I truly hope you can slow this down if not we will be here to support you...prepare yourself for a grind thats a really fast taper...I know of some people who have done it quickly but your going to get hit with withdrawals threw out the taper...methadone is no fun to go off correctly the clinic I was at even gave you more time then that if you dident have the money to pay
it  was also a forced detox but it was still slower ...is it an option for you to switch clinics??? any way get back to us with a bit more info on the why's of this whole mess...we will continue to support you ether way im just trying to make this a bit ezer on you and humain at that...good luck and God bless....Gnarly

Hi~   Personally,I would never do this.  It's a painful way to go.  Narcan is a great drug for overdoses as it works in seconds and binds to every receptor. It saves lives but I don't think it would do much for your withdrawals. I'm not an expert, however.

Gnarly will be on the forum at some point and he knows everything about this...a great resource and support!   So,hang on and wait for his reply.
