I will get back go y'all later! Have to go to the hospital for testing! Thanks everyone! ;)
I just wrote a really really long post to everyone and it deleted it! :(
When I came off opiates, I had horrible lower back pain. What I found that helped was taking Magnesium and Potassium supplements. Both these vitamins help neuromuscular communication, so the brain will recognize the need to regulate pain receptors in that part of the body. When you are taking pain meds, your body's natural pain control becomes obsolete. It takes a long period of abstinence in order to really feel the benefits of full body recovery. Taking Hydrocodone is just prolonging the problem and will not get your tolerance back until you give them up for good. AND I don't want to encourage getting your tolerance back for the wrong reasons, i.e. so you can get high on lower doses again. It is very normal to experience lower back pain just an FYI. I hope this helps :o)
You have been bomb barded with medical issues. Have you seen a neurologist about this? You have 2 surgeries coming up too?? That doesnt sound very fun:(
It's like my tolerance was completely ruined after being ON the 150 mcv patch for only 6 months n it's been ruined since! It's hard to describe that to doctors when h have serious multiple medical problems! *****!
I aware of all that dominosarah, I have been off Fentanyl since July 08'! Only take hydrocodone 10/500 as needed. Which I very rare! I just suffer n use my hearing pad haven't had withdrawals in years but my tolerance won't go down at all! That's my problem!
You have been on and off of narcotics for a long time so i can see why your tolerance is up. Back pain is very common. Are you trying to wean down before surgery?
Hey, girlie! I don't have an explanation for the back pain except some people just report having it. I have back ache from a fracture anyway, so I'm not sure if WDs make it worse for me or not? The thing you already know is: taking any opiate after you've been addicted to one is a BAAAAAAAAAAD idea. Really bad! It takes a long time for tolerance to go down when it comes to opiates. Benzos, for example, are not that way. If you stop those for say 9 months, you'd need to start back with a small amount if needed. I'm telling you all of this from my huge amount of unfortunate experience!
Sounds like you need pain relief. I guess my question is.....are you trying to stop? Are you trying to lower your tolerance so you can keep taking it later? If that's the case, you'll end up right back where you are now! That's a no brainer!
Have you talked to your doctor about this? I think that would be where I'd start. Be completely honest about what's going on and your concerns about the surgery and medications and fear of not getting adequate pain control.
Good luck to you!! I hope it all works out and you get relief soon!
WOW! This site changed! People were much more helpful & informative years ago! :(
