Just finished my 5th day of withdraw!!!

I just finished my 5th day of withdraw from tramadol and hubby just finished his 5th day of withdraw from hydros. I'm so happy we decided to do this together cause he's my best friend & it's nice to have each other to talk too. He knows I'm having depression(the anti depressant quality of tramadol) & he texts me alot just to see how I'm feelin. I'll be sooo glad to start gettin some energy back and I know that's his main problem...having NO energy. He works a very physically demanding 12 hr a day job were it gets over 100 degrees inside the building everyday so I know it gets miserable for him. I've read a few things that helps for energy but I'd like to hear what worked for you guys. Pretty much all symptoms are gone except for no energy and anxiety for me( I have ativan to take if it gets to bad). I have a dr app on Tuesday to get put on an anti depressant(I've needed one for a while but the tramadol took care of that. Hope everybody is doing great today!

I took the L-tyrosine as recommended in the Thomas recipe.   I couldn't tell that it did that much for me.   I still have some so might give it another try, although I took it for about five days.  I also live in a very hot and humid climate and I have a lot of animals (livestock) to look after, and I honestly had to force myself to go out there and sometimes I had to come in and lay down for 20 minutes in the middle of doing my chores, and then go back out and finish.   I have never felt so tired and lacking in enthusiasm and energy.

I took vitamins and drank a lot of water and that helped, but for me, it took about a month for me to start feeling like I could get up and go work.   I think it takes a good while for our bodies to heal.   For years my breakfast had been a pain pill and a coca cola.   I always took a pill every time I went out to work.

It has taken me about a month to start feeling more energetic and also positive.   However, I am in my mid 60's, so I probably could not bounce back as quickly as a younger person.   It was depressing....I was wondering if I would ever feel like getting up and doing anything.   I spent a lot of time laying across the bed and feeling kind of sorry for myself.   I finally made a list and started to work on it.   I can honestly say now that I look forward to every morning and getting up and going to work (taking care of my house and my animals).    I thought I was doing a good job while I was on the pills....but I wasn't.   I wasn't operating at a third of the level I can work at now.

So...I don't know how long it will take for other people, but this was my experience.   Try to eat right...take vitamins and drink lots of water.   Keeping yourself well hydrated is in itself sort of an anti depressant.   Good luck!!
