Life on Sub!

Hi everyone I just wanted to post and tell you all that is been 3 1/2 days with out using norcos and 2 1/2 on suboxone and I feel great, I can't discribe the feeling that I have so far no mayor W/S and I hope to keep it that way.
I do have 2 questions for those that know and used sub;
1) W/S worsen after using sub?
2) how long should I use sub?
Thank you all for your support.

SUBoxone and SUButex are meant to be taken SUBlingually, under the toungue.  Don't swallow the pill or any piece of it.
The length of time you should spend on sub is a personal choice.
If you are in danger of relapsing then you should consider being on it long term (longer than a month) so that you are able to get your life in order, start therapy, get involved in NA, AA, change all of your people, places and things.  If you have those things set up and wnat to use the sub purely as a methos of detox, the best way to avoid major withdrawals is to use it for no longer than a period of 21 days.
Go down by 2 mg every 3-4 days until you get to 1 mg, then try and get down to .25 mgs possibly even dosing every other day.  If you jump off at that point you will minimalize the withdrawals but it will NOT be painless in any way, shape or form.  Expect the worst therefore when it'sn ot that bad you will be pleasantly surprised.
You will be uncomfortable and have acute withdrawals for about a week or so.  Then you will struggle with PAWS and lethargy and sleeplessness, maybe even anxiety but it's nothing that can't be handled.
I suggest you exerise a lot even when you don't want to.  It stimulates the production of endorphins that you have been artificially getting through the pain medication.   You need to eat right, take vitamins, amino acids and possibly talk to your dr about the clonidine patch to help with the axiety rather than taking any valium or xanax as they can be addicting as well.
You should be fine... just stay the course.  BUT, remember, aftercare is KEY.  Getting through the physical part is just the tip of a very big iceberg.
Good luck!
PS, if you get to a point where you find yourself relapsing and switching from sub to pain meds, get it together immediately.  Those withdrawals, after going back and forth, can be hell.

Some people use sub for a quick detox  and some use it longer to get their life in order.  I'm still on the sub , so I can't tell you what the withdrawals will be like.  What did your doctor recommend long or short term use ?  Glad you are feeling good. It is working very well for me also.

do you mean W/D's (withdrawals?) not W/S?

question:  have you been in addiction for a very long time with constant relapses and simply cant stay clean even after completing the whole withdrawal process only to to go back to using again?   the answer to this is what should help you determine whether you need long term maintenance or short term detox...
used short term you should have little to no withdrawals, meaning 7-10 days...let me know...ok?

i am glad your feeling and doing so well with the sub...
i have been on it since may...
