Lortab addiction

I think someone I care about is addicted to Lortab. They take the 10/500's and average 13 of them in 24 hours. They are also taking Tramadol 50 mg and ambien, and ativan. Don't you think that 13 a day is a little excessive?   They do have chronic pain, but really now is that much really necessary?  RX is for 1 every 6 hours.

In 2nd week of Feb they got 120 of the Lortabs and 8 days later filled 200 Tramadols. By the end of the month, they are all gone now. Also Ativan, Ambien and Trazodone. These aren't gobbled up as fast unless they run out. And, yes they do have an addictive personality. Has been (0r is - just not drinking - an alcoholoc) in treatment many, many years ago. Im so sick of it I can't stand it anymore.

That is not a good combination of pills.  The Lortabs they can go cold turkey off of but not the others........Does this person want to stop taking these??  They will need help doing that.......let us know how it is going...........sara

thats def a start of sumthng bad that can only get MUCH worse trust we i strted off taking only a few and now 7 yrs latr i am taking over 40 a day every single day so if u can talk to em b4 it gets worse which it will belive me it will u have to get em to stop if u can but if he doesnt want to stop than sorry hun its gona continue he has 2 want 2 stop . good luck

That is a lot of Lortab not to mention the tylenol, which can cause liver damage.  How much Tramadol a day?  How long has this friend been taking so much Lortab.  I have chronic pain, but I did become addicted to Lortab.  It's an addictive drug and if your friend has an addictive personality it can make it even moreso!  I had to finally go cold turkey because of what it was doing to my life.  Let us know how we can help!
