Just got over withdrawals: Day 7... but!!

Okay, great, day seven! I feel absolutely wonderful...  Thank you all for all the support and concern and the help to allow me to cope with these horrid things called withdrawals... PHEW!!

BUT! Like I said, I do have a question. How soon would I have to wait to take the opiates again without them giving me them withdrawals again? Honestly I want to rid of them and I am honestly over them. But I have to get a root canal. I have had 3 previously. The first was horrid, so I seeked vicodin and/or percocets, about 15mg each time to help me relax during the procedure, which truly helped! I don't want to be a slave to these, but I really want to get something to help with the pain of the root canal...

Thank you once again, everyone...

PS: What exactly is the post withdrawal like? I have less receptors, so my tolerence has gotten lower? Just curious.

Oh... well I wonder what I could get that isn't any opiate for pain relief... maybe that mepergan... The procedure hurts me during, not after... afterisn't a problem, even when I got my wisdom teeth out, the post surgery didn't hurt.. the root canal only hurts during... I wonder whatI could take non opiate... if that is the case, Iwouldn't put another opiate in me and risk that... again...

Thanks

Soma? Tramadol? Would those be good?

When I have had root canals and I have had my fair share of them.  I always got Mepergan.  It is demoral and phenagrin.  They would give me like 24 of them.  No problem when I was out.

Hope you will seek other means of pain relief for the root canal.  Most of us can use other than Opiate pain relief after such procedures --- You will find that it is not nearly as bad as you may think --  Ask the dentist and he will agree that you can take other things -- the pain is very short lived and you will do just fine.   Man, there is NO way I would risk putting another Hydrocodone or Oxycodone in my body after what you have just gone through.  I have done some research on this and for most of us it takes at least a year before we can tolerate more Opiate.  All the best man - You CAN do this.
