Methadone Taper

I have been on methadone for 2 years 1 month and 3 days!! Ive really changed my life and have had it together for well over a year. The last 6-9 months i have been wanting to start a taper off methadone so i have been reading, and reading, and reading.... basicially i have ran out of information and have red everything i could find on line. the thing is, I plan on going down just 5 mls....(Im at 75)  but I get to the doctor, into the office, sit down and when he asks if everything is ok, I say its great, take my script and walk out!! Im terrified. I just need someone on here to tell me how to do it, step by step date by date... maybe even get me down and onto suboxone? I have red posts from this guy i dont know his name but it says something about him not being a doctor but his opninions are from experiance... i need to get a hold of that guy.. so im hoping i can find him.. and learn how to use this forum... and get to where i need to be... i have a plan to be off this junk by next year, have my debts paid... and my husband is going to have his vactomy reversed so we can make a baby! :) great goal to look forward to~!~  I'd really like to hear some positive responses about people getting off this stuff with minimal withdrawl... I can stand 72 hours if i have to... omg who am i kidding I couldn't bein with drawls for 1 hour when i was a junkie... but i think if im determined 72 hours is better than months like i hear methadone with drawl can be like... pleaseeeeeee helppp meeeeee!!!

Hi, I think I'm the guy you were refering to. I was on many clinics for almost 30 years and now have been off methadone and dope for over 7 years. You sound like you are in a good postiton to get off. Are you getting your methadone from a pain doc or a clinic? all the best

HI welcome to the forum...look in your e/mail I posted you a taper plan that worked for me...I was on 150ml for 6 1/2yrs and it took 8 1/2mos to get off but all the details are in my message to you so check it out and get back to me...good luck and God bless...
