Methadone Withdrawal+Paranoia

I am a new member on these boards and i am also a long term Methadone addict. I was only 18 when i was placed on methadone for addiction to Dihydrocodeine/MSTs/Buprenorphine....the list continues basically any opiate based pain killer which didnt contain Paracetamol, anyway after being on the meth for about 3 or 4 years i fell into the wrong crowd (again) and started taking Heroin and Crack cocaine. That was about seven or eight years ago.
I am now 30 years old and have been off the smack and crack for about 3 or 4 years (crack addiction only lasted 3 months as i was incarcerated for petty crime) i now plan to reduce and eventually come off the methadone as i dont want to spend the next twelve years on the green, my question is does anyone else have paranoia problems.
I am paranoid about my health despite having two full health and blood ckecks including Hepb+Hepc and HIV tests(all negative)

Vicki595: Are you in the uk?? Only advice i can give is do it when ur ready.....i have tried for years but before i was not in the right place mentally. I now dont want to be on drugs daily or at all tbh, as for the buprenorphine, i took anything with opiates in it this included buprenorphine (temgesic) when i was young when i got older i went on the Heroin.

I am on 75mls of methadone now and start reducing 5mls monthly (an agreement between me and key worker) next month but i have these thoughts far too much to be normal, its almost an obsession if you know what i mean???

Dogg :  Are you truly paranoid?   Or maybe a little obsessed and worried now? When it comes to our health, a litte bit of worry/concern is a good thing!  Do you think your thoughts are too much and way over the top causing sleep loss,weight loss,etc...?  If so,
you might want to talk with someone about that...

You sound like you're on the right track but you didn't mention how much you take and how fast you're tapering.

Hi same here got in wrong crowd etc did u *** off bupnorphne or wat hapnd ther as I ad last tablet last nite I'm feelin proper ill its bn month bn dtoxin for didn't think I'd be ill at end I'm new on ere to av posted out messages. But got no replies just frustraitn just wanna know how long I'll be ill for got bby to look afta its hard wen I'm ill takin paracetmols n iburfen doin my head in doc shud giv u sumat to relax av u got ane advice for me good luck wiv reducen if ad choice didn't av babs wud gone in hospital done dtox ther both crac n smac r evil nasty neva ever goin bk
