Methadone and Oxy

I was wondering how methadone mixed with oxy would do for someone who has depeneded on pills daily for 5 years.

I dont really understand your question.  Your wondering how it would do?  how it would do for what? are you asking is it safe?

hey girlee glad to see ya post here there"s lots of help here for ya annyways I did
what your thinking of doing, I had a huge pill habit for over 10 yr was in pain managment
for my back....the doc's tried everthing to kill my pain finely went to methadone because
nothing else worked....well the story goes ""will put you on it and we can get you off it safely.....what a line of cra# that was ....at first 40mg was working great but slowly
over 6 yr i went up 10mg at a time to150 mg .....about 8 mo ago i realized that it wasn't working annymore and decided to go off it well the doc said we step you down at 2mg
ever 2 weeks till its done....thats like 3 more yrs of beeing on it.....so 8 mo of go I took things into my own hands and have successfully weend down to 4 mg in 8 mo let me tell you.....methadone is a real monster to get off of...it seamed hopless at times but im able to do it the withdrawals weening are extream each time I drop doses now that im in the end it take about 4days to feel ok.....then you go thew it again....in the end i can expect 4 to 7 days of pure he11 at least that seams to be
what most people go threw im hopping i dont and its different for every one my advise to you is taper off what your on....donttake on something worst like I did there are many people in here with oxy experence and will help you work out a doable taper
to get you off the oxy just post the question and youll get the help your looking for
somthing like "i need to taper off oxy" should do it for you ....again im glad your here

I can write you more later, but a five year addict could definately be a candidate for Methadone.  There are plenty of Oxy abusers on Methadone.  Taking them at the same time is a waste of money, as the Methadone has a very strong affinity for your opiate receptors in the brain, and will tie them all up, allowing a only a very small amount of the Oxy to bind. IF you are dead set on using a taper medication, I personally would go with Suboxone instead of Methadone for reason I can explain later.  HOWEVER The best way, it seems from talking on these forums(and if I could go back, I currently am tapering Suboxone) is cold turkey with a ton of support, supplements, other medications, and resources we all can give you. In theory, you just replace one opiate with another. It does wonders for your withdrawl, but not for your mind, it wasnt very enpowering for me. I can write you again later, I have to devote the next three hours to the next Super Bowl Champions of the World...THE GREEN BAY PACKERS!!
