Methadone at 5mg

Creeping down to 5mg today with little to no W/D...  I mean, I crave drugs but what addict doesn't right?  Anyway, should I now go down 1mg a day til crumbs or stop altogether tomorrow (going to be a hard work week)  thanks

hey holliee , good to hear from you im kinda new to this forum ,ive been reading the
blogs and have searched methadone addiction, withdrawl ,ext there is lots of good
info here lots of older stuff is good to read so search the site also my heart goes
out to all that try to beet the 800lb gorrilla on our backs ....took me like 8 or9 mo
to go down, some times it was EZ other times it seamed impossible ill never forget
how bad it was at 20mg but from 20 to 10 was EZ for me ...i just guess it depends
on how your system reacts to this poison.....I to found it to be life changing in
the beginning  ....I have 2 hearneated  disks in my back...i could have danced
out of the clinic ....no pain at all but slowly i built up a tolerance to it and it dident have
the same punch so i figured its time to get off   the dr never said how difucult it
would be I  hope you can get off it someday just remember sloooooowly works
some people can do 5 mg drops some only 1 mg drops just depends  also take
a calcium, magnesium,and zinc supplement I  take 4 twice a day it cuts the withdrawals in 1/2 (get it at walmart for about 4 bucks,3 in one pill look under calcium and you will find it)

hey  just went down form 7 to 5 yesterday so im in day 2 i feel just "ok" but i feel it.
since where both at same level ill keep ya posted im doing it myself so been trying
to go down every 72 hr by 10% (formula i was given by a neonatal nurce for bringing
babys off heroin) im coming off 150mg for 6 yr so ive hit some roadblocks 60mg,30,
and 20mg was pur he## for 6 weeks so sometimes i go a week or 2 at one level
im hoping to be at total detox in 1 more month  good luck to ya .....Gnarly

Good luck to you and I wish you the best of luck... I to am on methadone and my bestest friend is also down to 1mg and she too is feeling withdraws from 5 to 1 has been hard for her and she even called doc and is going back to 5mg for now she is afarid she going to get back on hard more mg stuff... How long u on methadone and how long you been on 5

My hubby reduced 1mg weekly from about 5mg, he has felt the withdrawals since then and now is in Day 5 methadone free.   He worked on day 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 have been really rough. He's still in bed now and can't get up for work...
Some people say once you're at 5mg you may as well stop cos you're just prolonging the misery...other's recommend the 1mg tapering. I think it's up to you.
but if it's going to be anything like my hubby's withdrawal a hard week at work may be really difficult.   hope this has helped!
