Hi everybody! I just hit the roll call post and have a question for you fine folks. My Mom is 75, been taking percocets for quite a few years (10+), had her shoulder replaced about 1.5 years ago and is definitely entrenched in the pain managagement circus. They prescribed her methadone last week, unbeknownest to me. 1 10mg per day. She took 4 doses over 4 days and was as nauseous as she can ever recall. She was still taking her 10/650 percocet 4x per day, the doc supplemented those with the methadone. After speaking to the doc, he advised she quit taking the methadone 3 days ago. She has been having incredible WDs. Last night seemed to be the worst, hallucinating (she is very aware she is doing this, she is scared, she knows it isn't real). I spoke to the nurse this AM and they said she will be OK...give it a couple of days. She is still taking the percs 4x per day. Is this typical for methadone after FOUR days of one 10mg pill per day? Thanks...Gary
