I have seen posts in the last few days about buying methadone off the street and using it for a quick 5 day detox . PLZ dont by methadone off the street and try to detox youself with it ......
There were 3800 related deaths related to methadone for the year 2007, up from 389 for the year 2006...and a lot of them just took 1 pill, first time users...dead!!
If you feel you must use methadone which i wish everyone would try everything else known to man first ,PLZ PLZPLZ go to a doctor or a CLINIC ...nothing is worth losing you life over ....... It wont matter if you are clean or not if you are dead .

Excellent post! You know their are many people who dont even understand this drug & have no knowledge of its strength, & when your in the moment of withdrawal you will do & take almost anything to feel better, so yes It is very scary, especially as a mom like myself, If my child weret to take one pill or even 1 mg of methadone Id,lose it!  Its a fear that lives in me daily, as I have a young teenage son, & as most of us know addiction is a family disease. I'm really scared now.   My daughter wants to get some methadone from her dealer!!!! No way in hell is that happening.  she's really going through a hard time right now. she's mad at me because I won't let her go.

Methadone takes about 6 hours before the full effect,So kids will take one and think, this is working and take another. It is very strong and dangerous.  Ruthie

Any drug off the street can be dangerous. You never REALLY know what they are. They can be cut with all sorts of things, or worse, not cut at all so their strength can be way too strong. Causing overdoses.

i am doing research as we speak on the dangers of methadone, especially for first time users...the statistics are scary!!
people need to be aware that just 1 pill can kill.
