how can i detox off of methadone? and is it a long process?

Gnarly supported and helped me and countless others come off methadone through this site.  This thing is that you must begin to beleive that it is possible and it will hurt a bit, but it something that can be done.  Details make it easier to give ideas of what you will be facing, it is no cake ride, but something that will in the end make you even stronger.

HI and welcome to the forum.....well I detoxed off 150ml of methadone took me 8 1/2mo to taper off and I did it in 1/2 the time the clinic wanted to go at....tapering off methadone requires patents and perseverance it is not the most comfortable thing in the world ether
I have helped others do it also and can help you if you like it is a race one by the tortus not the hare....slow and steady wins the race if you go to fast your beat silly with withdrawals
to slow and it takes forever ...it wuold help to have some background on you to help you more...how long have you been on it ??? and what was your highest dose ?/ and what dose are you at now?? this will all play a roll in how long its going to take to get off it...I know a good taper it was givin to me by a neo/natal nurse that brings babys off heroin methadone oxy ext I used it and it worked great if you want it I can send it threw the messenger we no longer post taper plans in the open forum...I will check back later to see what you have to say will go from there good luck and God bless....Gnarly
