Morphine withdrawal

I am taking about 650mg of morphine a day plus 3 other painkillers on top & i've been told I need to come off it. I get the sweats every 4 hours now. I'm ratty, moody & not nice to be around without it how am I going to cope?

I take 240mg morphine s/r , 2 x dihydrocodeine 30mg each, 2 x zydol, 1 x baclofen, 1 x pantoprazole in the morning & in evening. 100ml of oramorph during the day & another 4 dihydrocodeine & 2 x baclofen during the day. Sometimes I have 4 paracetamol too. This has gone on for 5 years slowly increased more & more by my doctor. I had an accident at work crushhing my back.

Do u have a dr that can help u with this?  650 mgs is alot of morphine...and u didnt mention the doses or the other narcs u r on...tell us more..length of use etc...this will be uncomfortable if u have been on this amount for a while...r u attending any type of aftercare?

You cope the same way every clean person out there does.  You are going to have to be uncomfortable for a while, but would you rather be uncomfortable every 4 hours?

I don't have any personal experience with morphine,but the ratty,moody,not nice to be around I think we all experienced during the end of our using and certainly during w/ds.Addiction changes us into people that even we,ourselves don't care to be around,makes it hard to look into the mirror.During recovery we learn new coping skills and we find ourselves again.I know I have learned to like myself again and that makes me a much more pleasant person to be around....Kim
