1st Day is tomorrow
Tomorrow I will begin cold turkey off pain pills. Ive been taking Lortab 10mg or Percoset 10mg. About 6-8 per day. I'm worried because I have legitimate pain and was referred to a pain clinic. My first appointment is Friday. My doctor said injections will really help to where I don't have to take so many pills. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2007 and I absorb pills fast. I can take one 10mg pill and it only lasts 4 hours Max. I don't think I'm addicted because I have real pain but Ive built such a tolerance and taken them so much I have really bad withdrawals. I cant sleep,sweats,leg cramps, very moody and depressed and anxious. And my real pain...it stinks. I hope the injections will help and he can start them Friday. So either I can take less of none at all.
Thanks everyone. Today was long. I had clonodine. 01 Mg wheni told my dr wanted off the pills so I have them from that. I did take more as prescribed bcyheyrd wear offing 4 hour
I too had/have legitimate pain, but had long become addicted to the hydro. If you take it for pleasure at all, your a addict. The good news is that it can get better.
You will most likely have rebound pain, it will seem worse off the narcs, but it is a fakeout. I am at day 290, and it took a couple months, but my pain is SO much better off the narcotics. Many of us have experienced the same thing, that the key to less pain was diet, exercise, and getting off the narcotics.

Hey Ashley & Welcome! Congrats on your Big decision. Both the drugs you mentioned will help w/ detox. Way to plan ahead! You might also get yourself some Immodium or Lomotil. Be sure to drink plenty of water (2 to 3 litres per day.) I take it your doctor knows about this or are the 'comfort meds' a coincidence - already prescribed?
As to whether or not you are an addict. Usually the answer can be found by asking the following questions; Do you ever run out of your 'scrip early? Have you ever lied to your Dr.? Do you obsess about your next pill? If the answer is 'no' to these then you're most likely not an addict but simply dependent.
