Need some info

A friend of mine is addicted to percocet and is scared he may lose his job.  He has taken 6 percocet 10/650 within 3 days and needs to know how long it will stay in his system?  He started taking it on Thursday 1/16/08 and last took one on 1/20/08.  Is it still in his system today, which is 1/23/08?

His doctor will be looking at things related to thyroid function in the blood test...not doing a drug test. The doctor can't drug test your friend's blood without his consent. Did your friend agree to a drug test? Probably not, so he shouldn't worry. He isn't going to have one done on his blood.
Also, there is something called HIPPA. Your friend's doctor can't just call someone else up and give out personal medical information about your friend. It's against the law.
So...tell your friend he dodged a bullet on this one. He works for a pharmacy and if he wants to keep his job he had better think long and hard about who he is hanging around with, what he is doing for 'fun', if he wants to keep his job or if he wants to eventually end up in jail. If he is working at a pharmacy AND hanging out with people who like to get high from pills (and he is getting high also)-it's only a matter of time before he does something really stupid like stealing pills from the pharmacy.
He needs to find another roomate ASAP. Your friend needs to understand how bad he F**ked up on this one. He is lucky. After a couple of days the metabolites of the percs should be gone from him system.
Like I said, your friend needs to make a plan to change his living arrangements right now. If his roomie is an addict and your friend is already taking pills with him to get high.....Well, I don't need to state the obvious.
He got lucky with this one. Next time I doubt he will get off so easy. Let him know that it may be 'fun' now to take pills and get high...but that goes away quickly. After that all he will have left is the consequences of all the bad choices he made while loaded out of his head on pills. Addiction is a slow, miserable, lonely death.
If he choses to not change his living situation and continues to take pills, you should probably walk away. You can't save him. Only he can chose that for himself.

My friend went to the doctor today and had his thyroid checked, naturally the doctor had to draw blood.  My friend got these Percocet from his roommate, who just had surgery and of course liked the way they made him feel.  His roommate also has had an addiction problem in the past.  So my scared reaction to this is that his roommate wants to get him addicted so he can have a friend who is addicted with him, however the catch is my friend works in a pharmacy and is scared that his pharmacist will find out from the doctor that he has had percocet in his system and might fire him, thinking that he took the pills off the shelf.  That is why he is scared that he may lose his job.  He roommate wants to get him addicted so he can have "easy access" to the pills.  Let me ask you this he took one on thursday, two on friday, two on saturday and one on sunday.  Are they out of his system?  I didn't want you to think he only took two

Is he taking a UA or a saliva or blood drug test? The metabolites of the percocet will still be in his system. They go away fairly quickly though.....The metabolites for pain pills and heroin show up on drug tests. That is why if you are being drug tested AND you are taking prescription pain meds you need to let that be know-otherwise the assumption is you are on heroin or pills gained illegally.
Why is he concerned about losing his job? You say he is 'addicted' to percs. Has he used them in the past? Is this his first time? Did he have a script or get the pills from a friend?

No, it is not. Percocet is a short acting drug. He should be more concerned about why he did that, know what I mean?
