i was on suboxone for 2 years and the withdrals lasted maybe 2-3 weeks. nothing compared to opiate withdrawl, just sleep problems and the restless legs, have u considered ne NA meetings?
hi there, i can only share my personal experience with suboxone as i have never used methadone for treatment. i used suboxone for six months to kick a very long pill/heroin addiction. i started out at 16mg a day and would often take more if i was in a bad mood or something...i made a last minute decision not to refill my last script and tapered down VERY quickly. possibly, too quickly...im not sure. anyway, i continued to cut my doses in half and got down to a sliver a day. then i stopped completely. i felt okay for the first two days then after about 48 hours it hit me like a ton of bricks. i had pretty bad wd's. im on day 16 now and im not really feeling too bad physically anymore but mentally it has been very tough. everyone is different though...ive talked with people who claim that they didnt experience much in terms of physical wd's at all. i have also heard that sub detox is much easier and shorter than methadone detox. good luck to you!
i think the suboxone is in your bloodstream, and just the binder etc end up in the digestive tract. i may be mistaken. most people taper down to very small pieces. some sail through after that. some still get hit pretty hard with w/d's. i'm sure you 'll get a better answer than mine so keep checking. sway
