Just turned 27 week pregnant suffer with opiate addiction

Hello all. I'm 27 weeks pregnant as of Monday. I have been takening oxycodone no i do not have a script for them but I recently have stop I have been 5 days sober I'm due August 10th I just want to know will my child go with withdrawal symptoms. I do go regularly to my clinic I recently switched to a knew Obgyn but I tested negative for drugs should I still tell the Obgyn I just didn't want him to report me to CPS. I also live in Florida and I want to know do they automatically test the babies poop? I really need the most accurate answers! Thank you all!

Hello SkyMommy. Welcome to the forum. If you went thru wd so did your child. I would speak to my Dr. as they test the umbilical cord blood, there it will show the Oxy. If you speak to your Dr. He/She will not be surprised But if they are Surprised then they have a Duty to report it. Speak to the Dr. Let them do testing to make sure the babe is fine It will give you peace of mind and equip the Dr. for anything that your babe may need. The Dr. has heard this all before with the addiction crisis in the USA so do not be afraid. You are trying to do the best for your babe and will be recognized for this. Congratulations on getting clean Now just make sure your babe is ok and that you will not have the state called.. I wish you and yours the very best. lesa

Thank you but since I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms can my child still have withdrawals at birth I still have 3 months left before I reliever!

If you did not have wd Neither did your Baby and will not when born, But the oxy will still show in the umbilical cord blood.. It sounds like your use was minimal, this should make it easier to speak with the Dr. everyone makes mistakes Sometimes we have poor Judgement. Speak with your Dr. So that you can move on with Peace of mind.. Take care
