No Sleep and anxiety after stopping suboxone

I've recently stopped taking suboxone after a big problem with H. I started on 12mg suboxone, over about 13 months I reduced to about 1.2--0.8mg. last week I thought enough is enough and stopped. At first it was fine then about 36-48 hours later withdrawals started, very similar to H withdrawal but not as server, aching legs, lack of energy, feeling sick and so on.

The main problem now is a lack of sleep just 2 hours a night for the last 3 nights. Second rather more worrying problem very bad anxiety. I feel so messed up!!!

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and wonder what is best to take for these 'problems'?

Its been OK so far as I've been off work for a week but Friday I go back and hope I don't crumble with anxiety and nerves.

Any help on what medicines will help? (and hopefully that aren't physically addictive!)

Thank you for your post,

Went to the doc and got a low dose of diazepam 20x2mg tablets, that's all they'll give me because of the addictiveness, and have to last a week. After that if symptoms persist I can take beta-blockers, which are non addictive.

However I'm starting to feel a bit better today with out anything.

The dreaded first day back at work tomorrow! Will see what happens then.

If you have ant 'remedies' especially for sleep I'd been keen to hear them. Thank you.

Hi & Welcome,

I am sorry no one saw your post. I hope you come back. there is a lot of good support here.

It seems you jumped off at a bit of a high dose, even for Suboxone. I know the withdrawal stinks but in a few days you will begin to feel better and you can put this all behind you. You have come this far and I would hate to see you take any other addictive drugs at this point.

Let us know how you are feeling and we can recommend some at home type remedies to help ease the process.
