Norco withdrawal

I'm wondering how to taper off this effectively. I feel like if I don't take it I cannot feel normal, productive, or get much enjoyment out of the things I like doing in life. Working out at the gym is so important to me and I feel like I cannot do it when I stop the pills. Thanks so much.

Hi Nikki-welcome to the forum and on your decision to quit the pills. Your best bet right now is to start your own post ( top of page ask a question)and tell your story. You will get alot of support and info on here. Also check out the health pages on the top right of the page and look at the Thomas recipe.

I know, this is hard, I'm sorry.  Feeling alone and depressed, sadly, seems to be part of the process.  At least it was for me.  Look, only you know yourself better than anyone, and if you think going to detox is the way to go, then do it!  There you will find others in the same situation and people you can talk to who will understand.  Home detox is only ONE option - there are others and only you can decide what's best for YOU.  This whole thing starts with one tiny step no matter which way you choose to get clean, if it gets you there, then it was the right choice yes?  Listen to your gut here tommy - what does it tell you you need to do?

Oh I do want it more than anything believe me and I've tried to quite before but I know now that I can't do it alone. I'm just trying to intuitively taper off for the time being until I can talk to someone. It's difficult, I feel so alone and depressed.

A doctor, who knows your medical history, is the only one who can offer tapering advice.  Anyone else who does that is careless - we simply can not take that chance.

But there are a TON of home remedies that you can follow that do help you through that process - but the bottom line is YOU have to want it.  MORE than anything else you have ever wanted in your life.  So that has to be your FIRST decision.  Everything else can be managed.  Let us know what you decide and how you choose to go and there are a TON of people here who can help walk you through.  :)

well tell me as much as you can or direct me to where I need to learn about because of course that would be the optimal way to go. I just don't know who's gonna be able to tell me about the tapering process.

Well I love his shows - and I do think Dr. Drew is great - maybe a little too much of a "celebrity" but he does seem to do good work.  Definitely worth looking into - although I do want to tell you that detoxing/recovery can be done at home with the right support system in place.  What do you think?

Oh ok thank you for the information. I don't think my Dr. understands this so I'll probably have to go to a treatment center. I live in Pasadena close to where Dr. Drew works, do you have any opinions or info about the pasadena recovery center? thanks again

Hi tommy and welcome!

It's against this forum's policy to give out tapering schedules as that can be dangerous given we don't know your medical history, etc.  Your Dr. is the best one to guide you through that.  But congrats on wanting to quit!!  That's great!
