Is tramadol going to help with vicodin withdrawls?

Well, I have made it to my second day now.  I went and saw my doctor yesterday and he gave me some tramadol ER to help with any pain and discomfort.  Is this a drug you can get easily hooked on?  He assured me that it is not a narcotic because I told him NO narcotics.  I havent picked up the script and dont feel like doing much today.  I am just sitting here in a daze craving meds.  I have completed 28 hours of this and got some sleep.  I called in to work today so that I cna sleep somewhat around the house before i have to pick up my two little ones.  This tramadol stuff....does it really help or should I just keep going like I am now?

A lot of people have used it short term to help with w/d.  The only way I'd take tramadol would be if I knew that if I didn't get  some relief I'd turn back to my DOC.  And I would only take small amounts and only for a few days.  It is a dangerous drug so try to avoid it.

I also agree with moonshyne -- I don't understand how people get hooked on the stuff because I don't care for the way it makes me feel.

Bottom line:  don't take it unless you know that you aren't going to make it through a home detox.  There are better medications that your doctor can prescribe for you to get you though the w/d.  Contact me anytime for more info.

Good luck  :)

there are a number of ppl I've seen on here detoxing from it so best to stay away. Although I wonder because for me tramadol never did a thing. I couldn't understand how anyone could get hooked in the first place but I guess it affects people differently. I'd say to keep going as you are and in a few more days you'll start to feel better. I'd suggest getting aftercare though.

There are many here that got hooked on trams and the w/d's can be horrible, so just be careful. The cravings are normal and they s uck, but stay strong and you will start feeling better in a couple days. I would suggest not picking up the script and fight through. You can do this:)

OMG....Don't take the Tramadol.  It is very very addictive.  It is a synthetic opiate.  I was addicted for 5 years and the withdrawal was horrific.
Your Doctor and many others are not informed about this drug.  Please don't take it.  There will be other people here who can agree with what I am telling you.  It is horrible stuff.
Good Luck to you
