Ok, I have my Fentanyl Patch on, 3rd day

My 3rd day of the patch on, I feel no effect whatsoever with the patch on.  No problem with it sticking. I didn put a waterproof bandaid, Ritaid Brand over the entire patch. I am still having the same amount of pain as usually do.  I have taken my Vicodin, but tried not to, to see if I got any releif from the patch.  And nothing.  I may try one more, not sure yet.  I am not thrilled about anything I hear about the patch. Most of my right leg is numb right now.  I am at my desk this morning.  The pain from my knee goes into my foot and up my hip.  Making it very hard to sit here and work.  I did put the patch on my back hip, right under the belt area. I have a call into the PM Doc to let him know.  And we will see what he says...Oh yeah.  I need to figure all of this out without any medication..for real.

I do keep Tramadol on hand.  My Ortho Doc prescribes it.  I have only take on a few ocassions when I do not have Vicodin to take and I am having pain.  It does not work well for Pain at all.  It will take the edge off.  I do hear people say they have taken to cover the wd symptoms from another Narcotic they have taken.  I can't see being addicted to it though.  I don't feel any feelings with it, why would I want to take it?? accept to help with some of the pain.  I don't get it.  I may take one or two of the 50mg.  The Doc says to take one as they are bad for your liver.  But I have had the same prescription forever.  The Vicodin does absouloutly work for my pain.  Although I have become physically dependent due to my pain.  I may becomming addicted, which I think I am having a hard time believing.  Physically Addicted and just being addicted is two different things to me.  I would like to find something else to help with the pain though.

Thanks Sonya

I was reading your other post on the pain management side....are you still taking tramadol also?  If you are please be very VERY careful with that.  It is highly addictive and needs to be tapered down.  There are risks of seizures......sara
