I have no personal experience with subs, but i have been around here for a long time and read many a post...most say it is tougher to get off of subs and most people seem to wish, at the end of it all, that they had just quit the lortab, percocet or whatever the DOC is...subs are known to be tougher to detox and the detox seems to last longer...but this is just conjecture on my part.

Also, you did not say for how long you have been doing this, but i'd guess it's a long time if you are taking that many pills...either way that equals a whole lot of Tylenol, PLEASE have your liver checked out ASAP.  You are taking between 13,000  and 16,250 mg of acetaminophen daily (daily limit is 4,000).

I believe in Cold Turkey.  I don't know why it would be dangerous, people cold turkey Heroine.  It is going to suck big time, no doubt about that.  You need to check out the Thomas recipe located bottom of page, middle.
If you are going to taper, do you have anybody to control the pills for you?

Good luck, let us know what you plan on doing.

it would be best if you could taper.  just start cutting out half of what you are doing, or 5 less at each dose.  then keep taking 5 away each dose, and so on.  I personally have not taken subs, but I read A LOT on here and in my opinion the detox from subs may be worse than the norcos.  taper is really the way to go.

The advice above is the best. I would work with a Dr to do a taper plan with the opiates and w/d off of them. Are you considering a sub maintenace program w/ a reputable Dr or do u mean u can get your hands on some to detox with???? If its the second....no, don't do the subs! I went on subs after wanting to quit an opiate addiction and the w/d from the subs was.waaaayyyy worse, for me! But I wouldn't recommend jumping from 40/50 hydros a day to nothing. That's a pretty big damn jump! U need a good drs help.  FYI....when I started the subs I had to be 48hrs free from all opiates otherwise the.subs will make u very sick! Can u do a taper?

I ditto what Vic said. Going to see a Doctor is most important. 40-50 LTabs is quite a large amount to get off of. You will need medical help with that. My only experience with Sub is my brother in law. He was using a huge amount of Vicodin and he went to an addiction specialist who put him on sub. He's been off the Vikes but is still on the sub. I agree with Vic about getting off everything a quickly and as safely as possible. I wish you the best.

That's a tough question and one people on here are reluctant to give strong advise on.  If you can get off the pills without suboxone, that's obviously the way to go.  If you've been trying repeatedly and keep relapsing maybe it's time to try the subs.

I don't know.  The stuff I've read about them on here indicates that you should use them for as brief a period as possible because they're tough to get off of.

Hi & Welcome..My opinion would be that you find a Dr and have him put you on a good taper plan off the drug you are on..Then have them handed out to you by someone you trust. You will still have to rid the type of drug out that you are on and if you go one Subs you will still have to detox or w/d from them too..However, when I first joined on here in 2012 I was against the Subs but now I do see that they can help if you keep having some relapses or keep craving your doc..If you do decide to go on subs you need to do this at the lowest dose and for a short time..Under a DR care for sure..But I would just taper from what you are on at this point..Meanwhile get into some aftercare like AA/NA or support groups with some counseling..There is so much work toward staying clean..The detox is over real soon but it is staying clean that take the cake..Right now start taking some good vit/min and eat really healthy. You need to start flushing these poison out while you build you body's defense system up. These meds do alot up stairs in our Brain, so this is what will take time to balance back. I wish you the best and make sure you do have SUPPORT!! Lots of Life style changes have to be made. No more going around your old stomping grounds. Set up all the Boundaries you can as you learn all you can about this disease.
Bless
