Dear Still Going,
My heart goes out to you. Here are somethings that have kept me from every returning to the living death of opiate addiction.
I can't do it alone! Get too dope sick, dehydrated etc. If I could have
Once off ... I DON'T EVER HAVE TO FEEL THAT WAY AGAIN UNLESS I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THE LIE AGAIN!!!!
Everyday I don't use is a day won, and a miracle!
I go to lots of Narcotics Anonymous Meetings, when I was withdrawing it was the only place I felt safe, and understood.
I have the disease of addiction the thought of tapering off for me was just another form of trying to control my using.
The more you use the worse it gets to the point of death...I have coded twice, been on a ventalator, coma heart attack.
The disease of addiction is the only disease that tells me I don't have a disease as it's killing me.
I have been from here to there with this....I tried it everyway to have it always resurface.
Narcotics Anonymous and my Higher Power gave me a new life.
I will pray for you! God's Gotcha Let Go

Thanks everybody. Going to try and lay down. Not real good at sleeping these days.
Good job on the tapering..I never had the strenght to do it...If i were you i would give up the little you are taking and get it over...Everything you are feeling is normal, and everyone gave you great advice...I promise it will get better, and being clean is worth it!!
Good luck

Its frustrating to not see results. Its just like going on a diet, people want it so bad and if they don't see results quick, they give up. You WILL see the results soon. Just give it a few more days. It could be worst. If you got yourself down to .05 mgs, then things could be worse. It will get better, trust me. Good luck and hang in there.
Tapering will also put you into w\d,, the body doesn't want less of the drug, it wants more,, once you finally go off of them you'll have to go through enough w\d to get the drug out of your system... yes the headaches are normal.. many, many symptoms come with w\d, with the amount you're taking I would recommend quit taking them,, get it over with once and for all,,, I am currently 14 days clean off of a 300mg vicodin habit, cold turkey,, I have good days and bad days, but after that first few days I started having more good days than bad days.. I wish you the best of luck on this journey,,,
Lisa
Thank you. Just a little down today.
U R beating this ,H/A and all. Just hang in and dont "quit before the miracle happens." We know there is nothing left in using and freedom and joy in sobriety. No body has this under control, never, ever, we can admit defeat, surrender and live in the solution which is a power greater than us. You have come along way, hang in there.I am in the same boat and detoxing off suboxone, also down to .5mg, and have hope today. Keep positive. H/A are very common, at least you know you have a head back.
