And I also wanted to say, please be safe with the way you are doing this, okay? A Dr. could help you determine what's safe and what would work best for you, so please reconsider seeing someone.
Dummy, welcome to the forum. It really does help when you can talk about what you're going through with others who understand. This place is about sharing our experiences and giving back in the hopes of helping others who are going through the same thing. Early on, I knew I just had to try to keep an open mind and trust that I could learn from those who went before me, and it did make a huge difference in my recovery.
I'm glad you found this forum and I wish you much good luck! :)
You will get a lot more help, and make a lot more progress, if you'd take a minute and listen to what people are trying to tell you. They only want the best for you. As with most of us addicts when we detox, we look for the "painless" way, but that is a myth.
Detox is hell; if you are a true addict you've put crap in your body, and when you withdraw you pay.
* Looking to substitute one med for another is dangerous; it continues the mindset that got you here in the first place.
And once you stop being full of yourself it will be much easier to hear the words others are offering, based on years of experience.

This site is for anyone who is an addict and needs help. We are all on the same journey but take different paths to get there. Many of us did it cold turkey, tapered, used suboxen or whatever. That is what makes this forum wonderful, someone has already been thru it before you
Nobody said don't take the gabepentin, it works well for many. Kratom and opiates are what I see advised not to take. Anyway, sounds like your planning is paying off. I believe in having a solid plan, it really makes the process easier. Congrats on day 3, that is awesome.
Fentanyl is the strongest opiate known to man and is synthetic, so it lingers in your system for awhile. I never had an opiate prescribed in all my years of abusing them. It was hard to stop getting something to mask something else. Try not to take anymore opiates at all, you may find they only stretch out your detox, rather than reduce the symptoms. Just my opinion. So it's day 3, hang in there.
So you have two days clean. That's a start.

Thanks, the point of my post was/is to give a honest account of my withdrawal. I didn't take them to get high, rather to get relief from knee and back pain.
I am self-employed and with a pre-ex so insurance was out of reach until 2014 under the ACA. Getting clean is important to me and the Gabby's are only to relief the wd symptoms as from what I have read, they work.
Hopefully, other will read this and have another tool to help them get clean. Maybe if I were taking 80-100mg a day, my wd would have been more severe, so far, it is like a mild cold. I understand that it does get worse each new day until about day 5.
I actually had some wd symptoms with the patches as that is when my stools got soft and with exertion I was getting body aches.
So far no cramps, vomiting, or bad nausea.
Ditto the above! Substituting one drug for another especially without a Dr involved is dangerous. Plus you are going to have to cut your sources if you want to stay clean!
Agree with Tooter, please be careful taking meds that aren't prescribed to you! On that note, I also took gabapentin during my withdrawals and it worked well for me. I quit after day 5 as I have heard they can be he!! to come off of! Congrats on getting clean! Please be careful with the patches too! Those ate extremely dangerous!
Your very fortunate that the Gaps work for you Butttttt please get your own Dr. I tried Lycria and the Gaps about 6months ago for pain but made me crazy after the first bottle and I was only on 100 mg a day. So watch out for the side effects.
