31 days today!

Today marks day 31 and I am so happy and proud of myself! No more pills or pill chasing and I feel so much better!! Taking that big scary leap and going cold turkey was the best decision. My energy is beginning to return and I'm feeling "normal" again:-) . I'm seeing life in a new light and noticing the beauty around me that had been numbed for so long.

If anyone is contemplating quitting: DO IT!! Stop thinking about it and do it...you will not regret it! I love everyone on this forum, thank you for all of the kindness and support!

Thanks so much everyone!! I'm feeling much better today but I realized being sick is a trigger for me. In the past, when I was using, if I started to get sick I would take extra pills to feel better. I had my first tiny craving yesterday but it didn't last long when I thought about how much happier I was now and how much my quality of life has improved. It had only been a month but life looks so good!

You SHOULD be happy and be proud of yourself!! 31 days is huge!! Congratulations! Know that your addiction is always keeping in shape at the gym, its cunning and powerful and just waiting to ambush you at the slightest opening. Every day do something positive in working on your recovery. It's a life-long process.

I am on 26 days clean from Vicks and I agree with you life is more beautiful. I wouldn't have even attempted to quit if it weren't for this forum and its members support. Good for you on your clean time. Lets keep it going.
