I could not taper.  I always chose to use my fill and get high.....if I could get high that is..... I was needing more and more.

You can do this man, and cry all you want.  This is some rough stuff, but I promise you a couple of things:

1.  School will NOT get easier as your addiction progresses.
2.  You will not find a easier, better, smoother time to quit.
3.  You can do this, claim you life back and end the roller coaster.

Hi there! You can get off of this roller coaster! You need to come up with a plan to get off the pills! You can either taper down or cold turkey! Set yourself up to succeed! Get supplies you will need from the Thomas recipe! Cut all your sources for pills! Keep posting for encouragement and advice! We will help you every step of the way! You can do this! Don't give up! Take care and best wishes!

It's ok to cry! Real men cry! Just ask some of the men on here who have made it through this! However, as I said before, come up with a specific plan and start working through it! You need to take control! You can do this! We will support you through it!

I can not advise you on Suboxone as I don't know anything about it! I would say however, that it is not the way to go! You are not going to succeed until you stop taking pills and cut off all your sources! Every time you get weak or feel bad, you will take 1! Then it will escalate from there!

Get serious! You can do this! Trust me, I did it! It isn't easy, but it is doable! You must be determined! Until you are really ready to quit, you will just continue this cycle!

Hey D! If I'm reading this right, you are only taking one pill a day? Or is it 2-5 per day? Sounds like you have tapered down? Either way, this is a very reasonable dose to come off of. It's more mental for you at this point. Don't fear the WD. We go thru much worse being on these pills with the running low, anxiety in between doses, constantly chasing the next fix. Just think.....this will end the nonsense and you will be FREE!!! Sure detox is a major inconvenience, but you can do this. Stay busy with a project, get some exercise, hot baths are priceless. Think of all the xtra money you'll have. Your off till Tue from school?EXCELLENT, by then you will be feeling a would better. Keep posting....We care..

I totally understand your concerns.  I too, needed my energy because I have an extremely high energy job as well as a 4 1/2 year old. I tapered down and I ran out of pills to continue on my taper.  I took suboxone for about a week and although I continue to go through the mental ups and downs, I am sober and extremely proud of myself.  Private message me if you have any questions about how I did it.

Fireby speaks the truth. You can't use school as an excuse not to stop. There will ALWAYS be something - school, work, social occasions, family...Life hands you hundreds of excuses every day. When you're ready then you will do whatever is necessary. No matter what. When you start the journey we'll be waiting. Remember - the longer you wait, the harder it gets.

Yes - it's very, very hard. Someone just brought up my posts from the start of my detox almost 9 months ago.  He's using and trying to get off Noro, as I was. If you browse through the posts you'll get a fast review of my struggles which are about the same as everyone else's. I called them my days in hell. Very hard.

You've got four days off, and you're down to one pill a day today? I'd start now. It's well worth the effort. There's never going to be a better time. You've just started your term, you've got a long year a head of you.  So you're sick for a few days, it happens to everybody. You'd still be ahead of the game if you had to take a few days off. Sounds to me, like now is as good a time as any. Always will be someone on here to keep you company buddy. We're all rooting for you , no matter when you start this thing.  Feel better. Don't even think about crying being a problem. It's not. It happens to the best of us. You're still the man, dude.
