Pregnant and addicted while trying to safely taper

I just recently found out I was pregnant. I was already struggling with a 1-3 30mg a day roxy habit. I tried to quit cold turkey but started having cramps on day 2 and after a lot of researching I learned that going cold turkey runs a high risk of miscarriage in the 1st trimester. I wanted to come off safely so I took 10mg of methadone daily for 5 days. I started to feel withdrawals again and got scared so I got 6 more 10mg a few days later and did one a day. Now I have two left and my plan is to not touch them and see how I feel. I DONT want to be on pills anymore. I want a healthy pregnancy and baby and I'm determined to beat this. Have I already taken too much methadone thus defeating the whole purpose of a safe detox? Will I withdrawal from taking 10mg a day for 5 days, then a 4 day break, then 4 more days of 10mg a day? I think I never should've got those 6 more but I have no experience with methadone. I only got them after reading I shouldn't quit cold turkey while pregnant and they use it for addicted pregnant women. I only wanted to detox safely and STAY clean but I have no clue if I'm doing it all wrong! Any advice and please no judging, I made it a mission to quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant  so I'm doing the right thing by quitting. Maybe I never should've got methadone to begin with but my withdrawal from roxys was a hard one and I got very scared when I started cramping, fearing I was causing my body to miscarry. I just want to do the right thing but safely.

I know you are trying to do the right thing, but please talk to your doctor. It's unfair to your baby not to. If you're honest with your doctor and stay on the plan your baby will be ok and you won't have the fear of him or her being taken away! It's when you aren't honest that things get hairy. I'm sure you're scared. Do the right thing and keep us updated.

Your best bet is to talk with your OB about it but I will post some info below for you.

Standard Protocol

When a pregnant woman wants to detoxify from opiates or other opioids, the recognized standard of care, according to the National Health Institute, is methadone treatment while under a doctor's supervision. Methadone is not known to cause birth defects nor have any long-term affects on a baby. There are other medications available for opiate detoxification such, as Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone), or Subutex, (buprenorphine), but because they are "Pregnancy Category C" medications, meaning they are known to cause harmful and possibly fatal birth defects on a fetus, the are not recommended for use in detoxifying pregnant women.

"If a mother stops using the drug "cold turkey," the fetus will then experience withdrawal symptoms in the womb, with may cause wide swings in the baby's blood level from intoxication to withdrawal, which often times leads to death and spontaneous abortion, premature birth, and other negative effects. The best thing for the mother to do would be to consult a health care provider or drug treatment center about a methadone program, which will be less harmful for the baby."
