Preparing to withdraw from hydrocodone
I am getting ready to kick my hydrocodone habit for the 4th and last time. I am terrified this time around for some reason. I have always quit cold turkey in the past and just went through the horrible withdrawals. I have looked into suboxone and wondered if anyone has used suboxone for maybe like the first 2 weeks after quitting opiods just to ward off the severity of the withdrawals. I am currently taking about 20 5/500mg a day.
That is a good idea but I don't have insurance and that is pretty costly. I'm open to any ideas. I thought if someone could taper me off sub than it would work. I have tried to taper off hydrocodone but it sometimes feels like a slow death. Maybe I need to try to look at it a different way. Cold Turkey just takes so much out of you especially the 4th and 5th times around. Such a mental toll. Sometimes I think that quitting cold turkey is such a shock to my world that I never fully recover and be able to make the necessary changes in order to move on....I wished I would have never started this. I'm thinking out loud. I went 16 hrs today without anything and I broke down and took a couple which I feel is pretty good. Considering I usually take about 20 a day. I'm ttrying to change my schedule around and shake up my routine and try to get into a different one..maybe a little bit of a distraction.

Quitting cold turkey doesnt seem to work, right? How open would you be to going to a rehab facility? Maybe a really good idea, they could wean you off, and you would not be able to take any more than what is given.
I have heard some bad things about subox. almost like its trading one habit or addiction for another. I may be missinformed, but seems to be what many say.
Try a new approach this time...give rehab a real thought.
