I do belive in Fait, I flushed my pills, & started taper today,

Hi Everyone,

Well there is such thing as fait.  I just wanted to tell my story, and hear any support you might have.

So I had an appt with a new doctor yesterday, ( I had a previous dr that I was not happy with)  And I was ready to quit taking pills, and thought I'm just going to go into this new dr and tell him I want to quit and I need help. (Well it turns out that he is an addiction specialist) How lucky am I.  He asked me if I knew that, I said no but thank god.

So I personally wanted to quit cold turkey, he suggested because of the amt I have been taking would be better to do a taper, I said I want a quick one, I don't want to buy anymore. So this morning I counted out the 42 that I need for the next 6 days AND i DID IT I FLUSHED THE REST, I EVEN CLAPPED MY HANDS WHEN i DID IT.  First big step I guess.

He is sending me for blood work to get my Liver checked,  I have to say I feel like this really was fait.  He suggested the Subonoxe.  But I have read so many stories of people having bad WD from that.  And I didn't know you have to go into the pharmacy everyday to get a pill that you have to take in front of them and show them that you swollowed it.  Wow I don't think I could handle that.  But he explained to me about the long term positive things, that it can help a person stay clean.  (i'm still thinking about that one, so any words of advice on the sub would be great).  So he gave me the clonidine to help during the day and sleeping aid for night, and Ib profin for pain if needed.

I am just so greatful!! I am excited to be done with this whole ordeal

I would just love to hear from everyone!!
Thanks!

Thank you for that.  Yes I really want to stay away from the sub..I told the dr that.  and I can't see myself going into a pharmacy everyday for mths on end..

Plus my husband doesn't know that I am doing this, so it's kinda hard to say every day I'm going to the pharmacy..

Hey You have made a great decision to tell the dr your problem and flush those pills. All together in the past year I was on and off pain pills and suboxone just because I wouldnt stick to the program. And in that year I also flushed alot of pills down the toilet. I would suggest if you can do it without the suboxone then do it because long term use of the suboxone is very addictive. Yeah the thing you said about taking it in front of them I dont think they have that here in florida maybe they do, but anyway I always just got my script from sub dr and filled it just like any script easy access. The way there saying they do it by going to get your dose every day in front of them does seem safer. Remember if you do take it less is more the less you can get away with taking the better you feel. Its the opposite of pain pills so you cant get higher from taking alot more than necessary. As I said if you can get away with not taking it I wouldnt but if you do be on it short as possible. Cause the withdrawals can be real bad depending on your amount you taper down to un til you get off them. You are headed in the right direction keep it up.
