Really seroiusly considering the Jump

As most of you know about a month ago I quit Cold Turkey Fentanyl and Morphine...Fentanyl is supposedly 100 times stronger than Morphine...Now I'm down to my last 2 meds...Percs and Soma...These I've been taking the longest...I tried a VERY slow taper...but found I was "clock watching." I couldn't wait for the next dose which increased my anxiety and irritability...and I was still suffering Withdrawals....Now I'm wondering if I shouldn't just cold turkey these..or at least one of them...and just get this  the HELL over with.

Any and all opinions or shared experiences would be most useful. If I do go CT I will probably be on this board non-stop. I'm not so much worried about the Physical side effects as much as the Mental..Anxiety, Agitation, Panic...just to name a few.

I've been on a good regiment of vitamins and supplements for four weeks now..I know I'm going to need all the support I can get. Also...I'm prescribed an antidepressant but amm afraid to take it..Does anyone feel in this case it would help in the short-term? Anyone out there taking an AD?

When do the worst of WDs hit and how long do they last before they subside and I see some glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel no matter how faint it may be. I REALLY appreciate any feedback you can give..Many Thanks.

I tapered very slowly for the last 6 weeks since coming off the Fentynal and Morphone CT..

Tapered down now down to 1 of each each day..Hope to be off completely in a couple of days...WD's weren't too bad...It was mostly a "Mind" thing for me...finally sleeping...I owe that to the vigorous exercise I do in the gym...wipes me out:)) Thanks to everyone!!!

I meant not an issue as far as having seizures or something like that.  On another post it was said Soma can cause serious health issues so they need to be tapered. I personally dont know about the somas but do know opiates will make you feel sick as a dog but wont kill you when you get off of them. You have been taking them for many many years tho....Do you still deal with chronic pain? Do you have a plan to deal with that without opiates or muscle relaxers? Oh and yes we all make it more fo an issue than they are (opiates) we dread the wd's but it is, after all, only feeling horrible for a few days...it isnt going to kill us and say for instance we got a stomach flu that kept us low for a week we wouldnt freak out over that. Also like you said it makes you feel like you have energy and makes you happy. But it is fake. as soon as it leaves your system you lose that feeling dont you? Guess what we humans are made to naturally feel happy and have energy with no foreign substance in us. And you can feel that way also but first your body has to detox from all the chemicals....then you will have energy and happiness again. Unfortunatly it will take some time and hard work....no quick fix like the pills can give you. So I wish you the best of luck for the long haul. It isnt easy but so worth it if you can get there. Take Care!

10 mg Percs 6 times a day for 6-7 years...First med I was ever put on that's why I think it may be the hardest...or this could all be in my head that it's going to be hardest...and 350mg Soma for 2 years....I have actually not had a problem tapering those...The Percs just seem to relax me and give me false energy..Like I can't get motivated to do anything without taking one..That's how I knew I was addicted..I was taking them..albeit on schedule...more for what they did for me emotionally and motivationally than I was for my pain. When I get close to my next schedule dose of Percs I'm so anxious, irritable and agitated...Worst feeling in the world and taking a Perc seems like the only way to feel "Normal." Sick..huh?

Why do you think the Percs shouldn't be an issue?  Just curious...Could I be making them more of an issue in my own mind? I really do appreciate you responding back and hope to hear more of what you think..Thank you very much...Anj

How many percs and somas have you been taking and for how long? I have heard via this website that you shouldnt ct somas if you have been on them for long periods of time. I have only taken them myself for a couple a weeks due to a back injury so had no problem stopping them. You may want to check on that. The percs shouldnt be an issue. You have come so far I wish you the best of luck with the last of your issues.
