addiction treatment

I'm not sure if you can answer this or if I should ask a Dr.  My daugther is an opiate addict who has used RX pills and herion.  She has been taking suboxone as treatment but can not get into the MD for two weeks.  She has only 4 days left of suboxone.  She was able to get and appointment tomorrow at a methadone clinic.  She wants to to take methadone for the two weeks before her addictionologist appointment.  She doesnt want the clinic to know.  I told her to be honest at the clinic so she doesn't have some type of reacton.  Do you know if there would be an issue?  I can't talk to the clinic because of the privacy laws.  Thank you for any information you might have

Yes there will be an issue and she will most likely not be accepted to the methondone clinic and then kicked out of the other doctors program. Treatment doctors have very strict protocol and very strict narcotic contracts as they should and will not put up with this kind of thing because if her suboxone doctors appt is two weeks away and she only has 4 days left that shows she is taking to much suboxone and running out early. Unless you are saying she got suboxone from the street and it is not actually prescribed to her. Either way its going to be a problem because both places will drug test so if she is not already going to the sub doctor just getting them off the street then she is going to have to make a choice here either one or the other and whichever it is to be completely honest with them about everything or she will end up kicked out of both.

Hi there. Its usually standard protocol that they will do a urine drug test. Its best to be honest with them so that she can get the proper treatment. I wish you all the best.
