Scared I have a problem

Ever since the end of last year I have had a very hard time sleeping. I have have various different medications all prescribed by my doctor to help me sleep and I have been alternating taking one of them at night to help me sleep.
Generally it is xanax a few nights in a row then ambien for a night or two then lunesta for a night or so and then back to the xanax.
I cannot sleep without something to help me these days. It has been going on for months. i want my real sleep back.
I have had a hard time since my boyfriend left (good thing) last year because of his addiction (serious oxys now heroin) and now I am afraid I am addicted to medications to help me sleep.

I don't know what to do.

i recommend stop taking the xanax now because you probably know the withdraw from xanax can result in seizures. i recommend just getting some otc sleep aids, like maximum strength unisom liquid caps or some excedrin pm. ambien is also very addictive and if you have problems sleeping now you will really have probelm sleeping while detoxing off narcotic sleep aids. how long have you been taking these? you may already be somewhat addicted and may need to taper off. more people will be around to help in the a.m

I have been taking them since September last year.

Now it is every night. Tylenol PM just doesn't even make me close my eyes.

I don't know how to stop this horrible cycle.

well since you have been taking them for now 8 months you need to do some sort of taper, i recommend working with your doctor on it as he should be able to help the most. if you go cold turkey off xanax it may result in seizures. im not sure about ambien but more people will be on during the day time 2morow, i recommend typing a response during the day tommorow so that it brings your question to the top of the list or start a new one tommorow. i think no sleep temporarily is worth being free of drugs

Thank you for answering me. I just don't know what to do. Tonight and last night it was xanax and I still can't sleep yet.  The night before last it was ambien and  before that it was lunesta.  it seems like every four five days I start clenching my teeth and grinding my jaw really hard it hurts that I have to go back to the xanax.

This is horrible and I am goiing to run out of ambien soon only ahev a few lunesta left, then only xanax about 90 .50 mg.

How do i stop this?????

the best option would be to talk to your doctor about it
