Still goin'

Today is day three (72 hours), but who's counting? LOL.  The support and words of encouragement have been what's gotten me this far.  I can't believe I didn't find this sight sooner.  You folks are remarkable in your candor and insight.  Thank you so much and know that you're helping so many people.  Still have fatigue and motivational problems, not to mention the bathroom issues. I start work Monday after a serious surgery (brain abscess) in December (which contributed to my dependence) and I'm hoping the lethargy and motivation will be back to make me at least functional. Any real-life experiences with returning to work would be appreciated. Keep up the wonderful support.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  They thought it was a stroke or tumor and some young surgeon KNEW it was an infection and performed emergency surgery.  Sick as it was, I kinda said "well, WTF, I'll get my meds for free now and not have to get them on the street.  How sick is an addict's logic???  Prayers with you and everyone struggling!!

72 hours is amazing...You will be over the worst in a couple more days and will probably able to resume work on Monday as planned.
You may not be 100% but close and good luck to you.
Hope your brain abscess is healed and you soon will be back to your normal self.
I"ll bet that was a scary and tense experience and you are doing well to get off the pain meds and if you need something for pain use otc pain meds.
