Stoppingg

This friday I will officially be stopping. I have been wasting time on here for so long and making excuses and I am ready to stop and actually really motivated. I have two weeks off work to detox and get back on track. I have some xanax for the anxiety, and some natural B complex stress meds, I just bought some Valerian from the vitamin store which is supposedly the customer choice for natural anti depressant. I've also got 16mg of suboxone, but most importantly this time I am not forcing myself to stop, I WANT to stop. Anyone out there have any other suggestions on things to get for the detox and long term for the mental part? Has anyone ever taken Valerian? Or have you used something else as an anti depressant? I am open to all suggestions so anyone please, let me know what has worked for you. I want to make this time the time I stop for good and do this for real. I want to prove to myself and everyone that when I say "I'm stopping," I'm actually stopping. So Friday is the day (last day of work), and I will be stopping. No excuses, It is happening!!!

I forgot to mention.  I was addicted to Vicodin for 2 years.  I detoxed with Suboxone for 25 days.  If you use your 8mg try to break it into 2mg. pieces and take it for 4 days to reduce some of the withdrawals and then STOP the suboxone it might help..  I wish I had only taken it for 4 days.

Good for you.  You can never get to where you want to go unless you start on the journey.  Don't tell anyone I said this but "After a couple of weeks you WILL ask yourself why you waited so long to start your detox journey." It will be hard. I will not lie to you. You might feel like it will never end. You will survive the withdrawals and you will get on with your life.  I am a firm believer that your body heals the damage and you can with hard work return to your former level (Pre Opiate) of functioning.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

afterthought...i was telling u things to do that r way ahead of where u r at...baby steps..u need to go day by day i spose...getting thru detox is ur major goal right now which is easy to forget when u r past the whole experience and looking back on it..altho i do feel meetings or some type of aftercare is so important right now..others beg to differ...i did not mean to take ur focus off ur immediate goal..which is detox and feeling ok..like me u work and this is a very important hurdle..and i want u to know i am pulling for u....but in the back of ur mind just remeber that u do need some type of aftercare..i did not know better when i quit...had no idea what to expect...keep us posted as there is lots of support here

sounds as tho u r awfully determined...i used valerian root and still do each night...if it is good it will have a strong odor..i liked it better than melatonin cos melatonin gave me an am hangover...valerian root does not

as far as xanax..u picked the strongest benzo on the list but it sounds like u know what u r doing..sparingly is always the key..i am not sure of ur doc nor ur dose as u did not state it..u may have before but forgive me...am nearing 50 and my brain is slowly deteriorating with age  LOL...2 weeks is ample detox time..unless ur doc is methadone or suboxone...most others are over and done with in a week and most often less...so u probably gave urself time to spare as far as detox goes

just remember detox is over fairly fast with most narcs...for me 4 days..physically..then the mental aspect kicks in...the excitement of quitting wears off..and u r stuck with fatigue and depression..do u have a plan for this part?  aftercare?   so very important ...i read ur plan for detox and it rox...but do not fail to plan for the aftermath...read thru the health pages...so much info there....keep us posted

Hi Cassie!

Supplys you might need also :   Imodium, otc pain meds,  heating pad, hot baths,

I don't know why u got the sub,  I hope you do not use it as it will be just something else to detox from.   Just get it over with and done.   I don't know what your DOC is but sub will not let you get on with the withdrawls.  Please, just make it past day 4 or perhaps 5 and you will be a clean woman!  :)
Hugs
