Suboxone go to a Dr. or a clinic?

A few of you know that i am trying to support my fiance in his OC addiction. The clinic around here it is 175.00 a week for the dr., counseling, and the suboxone. I called Rite aide earlier and they said the meds is only $5 a pill. So is it cheaper to go to the Dr. or the clinic? Thanks

Do you have insurance?  I know suboxone is really expensive and as wait2long said, it should also be used IN ADDITION to other therapeutic measures.  For instance, does the clinic offer physical or occupational therapy?  You did mention they offer counseling which is great.  If they offer all of this for $175 out of pocket fee a week, that's a good offer unless you don't have it.  I like clinics because they do offer all of the different tools for coping skills and personally prefer them.  You have to balance first your fiance's need for suboxone treatment and counseling with what you really can afford.  Check around, find all the doctors who dispense suboxone and compare their cost to the clinic.

I don't really know much about suboxone except from what I have read on here. I think only certain doctors are allowed to prescribe it. I have read also that most of the doctors expect a cash payment at the time of service and the fee can also be quite expensive. Some of the doctors make it a program to where you have to do other things as part of the recovery. These are just a few things I have read and am not sure if they are correct. I'm sure others will be on here later and you can get answers that you know are right.  I know flmagi has experience with it. Maybe you could message her and ask some questions. She will be more than happy to help. Best of luck to you and your fiance!

suboxone is a tool to be used in conjunction with therapy...does the doctor offer therapy? if not go to the clinic so he gets all things needed for success...

I think the question is which one do you think he's more likely to do?
