Suboxone question

Hi everyone.  I haven't posted for quite awhile.  I have been off of sub for 5 mos. now.  But, my problem is,my sleep, i am  depressed and some anxiety.  My anti depressant is getting me nowhere, even with changes.  My question is, I had lunch the other day with a woman who had helped me with the suboxone study through adapt.  She wanted to know how i was feeling and she recommended that i see the dr. who works with the study, he is the only dr. in town who can prescribe sub.  She said he does have private patients that he puts on a low dose of sub and it does help with what i am going through.  Also, with the arthritic pain that i sometimes have.  I know i did feel so normal when i was on the sub, it was coming off of it as fast as they tapered me which just about did me in.  I am almost at my wits end here.  Sleeping pills only work for a couple of hours and i find my drinking has gotten out of hand.  I don't want that.  I know when i was on the sub, i never even had one drink, nor did i want one.  So, those of you who remember me and gave me such good advice i welcome any imput you might have for me. Thanks so much. TJack

You are so sweet and i have missed reading your posts.  So informative. I do remember your headaches as well.  I am so glad you have found relief with Elavil.  I just remember how well i felt on the sub.  But, you make alot of sense about it being new and long term effects are not known.  Maybe i better rethink this and talk to my pc doc about Elavil>ametryptoline.  I am glad you have found relief from the fibro and sleep.
Thanks again. TJack

Yes I have always had sleep issues. For as long as I can remember. Yoda and a few others are also on Elavil. It has helped me so so much. I have never had good luck with meds like Lexapro. I have less side effects with the Elavil. Another one of its uses is it helps with headache prevention which is something I also have a problem with. Its given to many people with pain issues since it helps the brains perception of pain. And the help with sleep is wonderful. The 30mgs I take at night, doesn'[t make me super sleepy. It helps me get better quality of sleep. it makes you go into Stage 4 sleep which is the restful, recouprative sleep.

I would try other things before going backward with the Sub. they still don't have enough info about longer term use as far as safety and long term effects on the brain. After some of the things I read on another site from people who were on it long term for pain even in low doses, they said they still arent' right as far as sleep pain levels ect.

So glad you posted.. I have missed you hun.. XOXO

Hi there.  I am glad you read and replied.  I know what you mean.  It is a hard decision.
I liked that dr. so much, the sub doc.  I like my dr. also but i am getting nowhere with her.  I feel like a mess.  I am in a hole trying to dig my way out.  I take 20mg of lexapro and then she added deplin, which is a new drug from Europe.  It is suppose to help your anti depressant work.  I tried to get her to just change my anti depressant but for some reason she did not want to do that.  Elavil, 100mg.  Sounds pretty tempting to me.
Then my sleep is so awful.  2 or 3 lunesta  a night to get 7 hours.  I am sick of it.
Did you have a sleep issue before, besides from your pain?  I have thought of you many times and lots of the others who were such a help to me.  Thank you so much for posting.   I will let you know what i decide.   TJack

Hmm... I wouldn't go back.  If that is what caused this imbalance it could make it worse. I have read about people being disrupted after use of Sub...

What Anti depressant are you taking??  Have you tried Elavil. That is what my Fibro put me on, and I have never slept better. I take a low dose only 30mgs. Doses of 100mgs are used for depression. It helps my pain as well as the quality of sleep I get without making me groggy.
Pm me if you want to talk more about this. Or I think you have my email. Missed you.
