Suboxone use and withdrawal

Hi all, I just found something out through the grapevine and have a question.  My cousin is also quitting opiates(vicodin) and instead of cold turkey he has been getting suboxone off a friend!  He said he has been taking 2-4mg a day for a week but would skip a day or day and a half!  He wants to know if he'll withdraw or not?  I can't tell him cause I just quit and don't know anything about suboxone.  I need educated befor I let him have it!!!

Sub can last many DAYS in your system .........  it is one of the longest withdrawals - in addittion to methadone - -  that can be found....... Even taking it every 2 or 3 days is plenty to build up a sub habit - - and a sub withdrawal may be brutal!!   Maybe check the Health Pages for sub or try The Suboxone Talk Zone - - that one is moderated by a real MD and he specializes in addiction and suboxone..................

Suboxone is an opiate so of course he is going to feel something.  The longer he takes this the worse it will be as sub has some real brutal wd's.  This med is also one that needs to be taken under a doctors supervision as it works differently on the brain.  He is also getting it from a friend, classic addict behavior.....Time for some tough love for the cousin.........sara
