Suboxone withdrawal

So I've been in recovery for a while and have been on suboxone for several years. Today is my first day without suboxone. I weaned down from 8 mg to 4mg in 2 weeks, then went to 2 mg for 10'days, then did 2 mg every other day for a week, then did 1 mg for a few days. Ive heard so many different stories of how bad sub wd is to it not being any different then comking off any other drug. I'm scared but determined and trying to stay positive. I have the next four days off work. Hopefully I can get through the worst in that time period. I don't know what kind of answers I'm even looking for on here. I've already decided if I feel like it's too much to handle I'm going to go back on 1 mg for a while then try again in a month. In thoughts or advice?

Thank you for the responses. I'm feeling ok right now. It's been a little over 24 hrs since my last dose. I think more than anything I'm giving myself anxiety thinking about how I may feel.  My doc prescribed me some meds to help with the wd's. Hopefully I can get thru this! I've heard days 3-4 were the worst. I guess only time will tell!! I will set keep posting. Years ago when I was going thru wd's from opiates this forum helped me tremendously!

I noticed with subs there were withdrawals  when I stopped.  Unlike stopping from pills where the symptoms were constant with suboxone they just came in waves for about 7 days.  I hated bed time and I would slowly get a little more sleep each night.  I did this at a rehab in flordia.  I would wake up each morning soaked from sweat.

I too got off suboxone (on for 7 yrs 16/24 mg day) and my taper was much faster than what you did. I think im going to watch your posts and see how you do. It took 2/3 days for full blown w/d to kick in for me so right now, u might be ok? Maybe the w/d will be less b/c of your taper....but, it was still kind of fast. Keep checking in b/c i truly would like to see how your w/ds are with the taper you did.
Thinking of you.....good luck and please keep posting....
