One problem with open ended sub is that if you do need narcotic sedation, it won't work too well. I understand how you feel. all the best
Thanks for your support and this is how I see things.
I have been chasing a drug for the last four years and my life has been going down hill each day until 2 days ago I feel great and feel like I am at the wheel again in my life. I don't have to leave the house and think to myself...do I need meds to take with me or....do I have enough meds to make it thru the day. I look at it like this...If I'm on suboxone till I die so be it...I already take prozac and, prilosec, I have a brain disorder now and I have to take medication to deal with it. Its as simple as that. I have a new hope on life now when before I had even considered suicide. So that being said, If I never get off of Suboxone.......so what it can't be worse than what I was already doing to my body.
My doc said its my choice and if I want to stay on it forever I can but for now lets take it one day at a time.
So those of you out there that are not sure...thinking to yourself should I try it or not....look at your current situation if you really want your life back get on it and take one day at a time.
Much love to all of you out there.
You are my brothers and sisters in addiction and to those of you who have families and jobs and kids don't wait any longer just go try it if you don't like it go back to your regular drugs that you have to hop from ER to ER to get or steal, buy on the streets cause we all know thats way better than being honest with yourself and a good sub doc. and getting Help.
Don't be afraid to take that first step to save yourself.

There are no free rides in addiction. What goes up must come down. I hope your rebound withdrawl is minimal.
But, you have to remember ........you have to come off it someday too. Nothing is withdrawal free, but If sub is used correctly.....I hear the withdrawal is minimal.
Best of luck,
Nauty.............
I have heard the detox is much easier from sub..havent taken methadone or sub...someone with more experience can post soon i am sure
Isnt the detox similar to methadone? I mean eventually a person must detox from it, right? The only reason I ask, is I to have often thought about going down this path, & its a option as my insurance covers it but you must be under 10mgs of methadone, which Im at 3mgs, but I,ve researched other doctors who will take you on if your under 30mgs, I guess they all have their own rules & regulations? Im glad I do have this to fall back on, cause methadone detox is ugly. Penelope
I'm glad it works for you and I hope you don't have problems when you get off. all the best
its so nice to hear people living their lives again, free from the grips of addiction...suboxone is a lifesaver, there is too much negative mis-information out there, how can ANYTHING be as dangerous as addiction itself...?
i do believe in working the treatment with therapy, i feel it is a must!!! but feeling well enough, not high, not sick just normal so we are able to tend to these underlying issues that we have ignored for so long is just such a good feeling...suboxone DOES work!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO] YOU!!! and keep up the good work...
i am also on sub...
Thats great! I'm on Sub. too and it is a great option. I highly reccomend it. These people that keep relapseing or can't afford the down time from withdrawels should give it serious concideration.
