Suboxone

Hi My first post been reading the post for a while now. My Pain spec. have me on 4mg of suboxone a day for pain relief. Well this is not doing anything for my pain. Was in a atv crash 4 years ago and that is how i got introduced to pain meds. fractured my back, scapula.wrist and broke some ribs and collatr bone. I been on  percozet. tramadol vicodin7.5/750,oxycodone 5mg,ms contin and fentanyl patches. My question is my fam. doc dont like the short acting meds. so he is the one that put me on  ms contin and later fentanyl patches. The ms contin did not do much for pain relief so my pain spe. told me to try suboxone. So right now the only thing i take is suboxone and finding out this is really hard to get off. Can i with help off vicoprofen 7.5/325 get off suboxone?. Not shure if i posted this in the right place. Also the worst med i been on was tramadol had severe whidrawals for 1 month.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I was wondering if it can help with the whitdaw.. pain more than anything. The suboxone takes about 37 hrs to partially get out of your system i think. I just dont want to go thru the whidrawls again and the way it sounds these are really tough with suboxone. My family dr. is fine giving me pain meds. he is the one that saw me right after the accident so he knows me really well. The thing is that he dont want to use to much of the short acting drugs. He gave me ms contin which i did not like and at a later date fentanyl patches whish i think i only used 2-3 25mg patches slept like 16 hrs. on that ****. The only thing that have worked really well for me is vicoprofen. I take it if i know i'm going to do something semi fysical. Like i said not sure if i'm a the right place as far as forum. I do have a lot of experience with pain meds. Thanks

as a doc who doesn't prescribe suboxone personally but what I know from others is that suboxone binds to the opioid receptors much stronger than other meds so even if you take them they won't have any effect because they won't bind. Thats the reason they use it in **************. I would think you would have to clear the suboxone out of your system first before taking other opioids. By then, you might as well just continue because the worst is over. This is not professional medical advice but just some tidbits of knowledge i know that might help - I would still talk to your physician.
