I have noticed that somewhere between 2-4mhs, people need to ow down their taper schedule. Bow 2mgs seems to be the real turning point. It takes 21 days for your last dose of sub to be eliminated from the system and have seen many people have an easier time by dropping every 21 days and in smaller increments for the final drops. I don't know your story, but you may want to discuss this idea with your prescribing doctor. If you have t started already, I would take amino acids and and drink EmergenC now. It takes some extra nutrition for many of us to have what we need to heal or chemistry. Hang in there, you have come a long way.

Hello there...
I too am tapering, very slowly and under the supervision of a doctor.  I am an impatient person and want to be at zero over night.  But, I have learned from these good folks on the forum, that slow and steady wins the race....easy does it, but do it.  You CAN, you have already decided you have had enough...realize that you are NOT alone!!!  Keep posting please...

Hi Mississippi,

I'm approaching day 23 from my last suboxone dose.
I agree with amandag....  everyone is different and wd's are different so don't get wrapped up in worrying about detox,  focus on the outcome.

Sub does stay in your system longer.  And the lethargy is the last thing to come back,  or so I have read.  On day 23 & I can tell u I have already had a couple of good, energetic days.    Day 18 was the first day I felt the energy coming back.   19 was good, 20 n 21 I was dragging,  22 was good.  But I have read that "I will have good days n bad days".  That info actually helped me understand this process.   I do much better when i know what to expect.

Can't give tapering advice but I will tell u, i tapered slow n steady.  When I dropped my dose, I was determined to stay at that dose n not go back up.  Stay there until that dose started to feel adequate.   I was on film n would take razer blade to cut into small doses.  I got down to less than half a mill.  Around .30-.35.  When I actually started getting that euphoric feeling at that small dose, I jumped.  Being on that small of an amount, I believe, has helped me tremendously.
Imo, 4 mill would b a tough jump.  I would encourage u to keep tapering but stay focused on the outcome.  Every time u lower ur dose ur body will want more.  But u r stronger than sub.  If I could do this....I assure u,  u can to.
Keep us posted of ur progress.

Hi there, we cant give you help with a taper plan because we are not aloud : )
The best advice is to taper as slow as you can on subs.
Things like clonidine are often offered by a prescribing doctor when you do decide to jump to help with withdrawals.
I do however suggest you never listen to the horror stories of coming off subs as they just deter people from stopping.
The fear is often worse than the detox itself.
If you taper correctly, you can minimize withdrawals dramatically.
Sub detox is a mental game, you have to play it to succeed.
Its a very long drawn out process, but there are myself and a couple others who have successfully gotten off subs, but it doesnt come without mind games and very hard work.
Im going on 9 months off subs in a couple weeks and the reality of waking up every morning clean, is the most rewarding feeling in the world.
I have my life back : )
We all detox drugs differently, so i really suggest you only take what you need from every comment and leave the rest.
Dont let anyone tell you what you will and wont go through, because it will just mess with your head.
My experience coming off subs personally, was i had a very comfortable detox, and after day 8, i didnt need the clonidine anymore and slept constantly every night from day 1 for 10-12 hours.
Some people sleep well, and some others dont.
So, you really must speak with your doctor about a plan and what to expect.
We can support and share our experiences with you, and help you along the way, but just not tell you how to taper because we dont know your history and are not doctors.
Stay with us and keep posting, this is a great forum.
Take care : )

I don't know much about subs so won't be any help.  Most of the people here will be on during the day but there usually are a few who answer questions and help through the evening and early morning hours.  Check back periodically okay?

While you are waiting you could look back through the boards and look for questions similar to yours...I bet you will find some of your questions answered there.
