Support?

Either I have the most absent minded husband or he just doesn't care/understand.  He came home from his business trip and just left his prescriptions on the bathroom counter this morning.  :-/ I haven't taken any since Sunday and just puts the temptation right in my face.  I picked the bottle up and looked at myself in the mirror and swiftly put it down.  Sure would be nice if he wouldn't leave it out though.  Oh well atleast I passed :)

I agree with the weight gain, seems to be common. I never ate when I was taking opiates, very sad really I thought the food would absorb the pill, crazy huh? I agree I'mDONE it is a small price to pay. The funny thing is I never ate before and now I am really hungry in fact I just ate some cheese crackers on my way to the computer. I think about what I am going to make for dinner in the morning, I also wake up hungry and wonder what's for breakfast? I am SO happy one more pillfree day is coming to an end, that truly is a miracle for me, so happy to be out of the cycle of the pill addiction.

Yeah, weight gain - seems to be a common side effect when quitting.  Small price to pay for a lifetime of sobriety (i.e. happiness!) in my book.  Hang in there kels - it will keep getting better.  :)  stay strong!

Well I've resisted all day.  Munching on chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows, n Graham crackers.  That's kept me pretty distracted.  I'm gaining so much weight being sober. Lol

Kels...unless you're an addict you don't think about that stuff. So,don't think bad of your husband.

Here's what you do :    I know YOU know how many pills are in that bottle. Write that number on your arm with magic marker. Close the bathroom door and don't go in there.
Carry on with your day...share the goodies with us!!

I dont think he did it on purpose either....Just explain to him nicely that he needs to keep these out of sight.  If he doesnt need them anymore ask him to just flush the rest.

I could use some chocolate too!!

Definitely good plan to give them to him - and I agree with IBKleen - keep posting if you're feeling too vulnerable before he gets home for lunch.  Talking is ALWAYS better than taking some stupid pill!  :)

I agree, don't take it personal but you need to protect yourself as well so give them to him and let him know that he cannot leave them around. Hang in there and talk if you need to. It is a few hours until lunch, I will assume so don't sit and wallow in it.

Oh, he just got a small script a few days ago after getting a massive cyst removed.  He takes them as prescribed and has no problem.  His script isn't even my doc but it'll numb me to forget mine but I resisted.

I know it probably seems like he's being unsensitive or uncaring about your situation, but he did just have some medical issues and just has his own personal pain to think about.  I seriously doubt he left them out purposely - please don't take it personally Kels.  I know how our minds think after quitting and everything becomes magnified for a bit and extreme or irrational thinking can be part of that (at least it did for me!).

Hang in there and pat yourself on the back for not taking one!  Now give them to your hubby and tell him to keep them someplace private and hidden for his use only.  Stay strong - you're DOING it!  :)

Morning!

Sorry, I don't know your whole story. I am guessing, from what you stated, that you have stopped taking pills and he hasn't? Is he taking them as prescribed for a medical condition?
