OMG I need something for pain thr bad thing is I can't take any NSAIDs (motrin type stuff) and I don't want to take anything addictive. I have Lupus and Crohns disease and my joints are always hurting but I have been able to manage the pain but I am moving a whole household byself because my hubby is deployed so I'm in alot of pain.
have taken tram...never abused it tho..found it practically worthless at pain relief...and after reading consequences of using it i feel the same way..scared of them..easy to get tho..docs give em out like candy...scary..very scary....not sure how long it will take for the word to get out that these pills are not harmless.....more and more stats available due to addiction...my pain mgt doctor would rather prescribe lortab than tramadol...and he is up on his meds....kinda like the recent midinformation on sub in a way..people unknowingly getting into trouble..it is good u r questioning and researching any new med u take
Avoid it like the plague.
Yeah not what you want to start taking .tramadol is my DOC and it is as bad as you hear its very addicting and h e L L to get off of .I hope you can find something else that will help with your pain
Tram wasnt even worth beans for my pain. Give it a two or three week trial. You will know before then if it helps your pain and situation. If you arent getting good relief you need to stop the trams and ask for something else, And dont stop asking until you have somthing that works. And even mention to the Doc that trams are addictive with terrible w/d's that are worse and last longer than either sub or methadone...........Tell him to find a current medical reference to look it up in.......its no lie. ------- good luck to you. And tell him to remain current medically if he wishes to have your and your families health in his care.
Tramadol is not supposed to be taken by those with previous opiate dependency. And yes, it is way worse to quit than most opiates. I would avoid it. You didn't say why you were prescribed? If it is for pain, Ibuprofen 600mg works almost as well. I do this with a muscle relaxer (Zanaflex) when my back hurts and tightens up.
